Wakefulness - 2002-9
May my wakefulness, my earliest though of the morn,
Seek your heart my Father, glorify you in thankfulness
May my arms stretch the mercy seat on which You rein
And may my prayers meet with Your gracious will
Guide feet clad in the gospel
To step in footprints sunk by Christ
Still my fearful, rebellious and broken mind
And to mine heart convey sacred utterances
Of comfort, grace, urging and truth revealed
Minister to Your servant, Oh my Master,
Perfect Father, impart to me Your wisdom
That a blessing I may be
Kindle love in the innermost place
Uplift eyes to see Your beauty
As wakefulness escapes with my breath,
Grant me peace
Watch over this sleeping infant
Rocked gently on arms that can bear the universe
Gracious Father, who knows my all
Let this heart rest as one loved
